We  made pretty good time along the road to "The Corner" and we had at least another 2 hours before the sun went down so a couple of pics was the go. At this place you can drive through a gate and leave NSW and cross into S.A. and then turn around and cross through another gate into QLD all in a minute or so.

Don't go to Cameron Corner expecting a lot to see...however it does have it's attractions.

Well what you might expect to see at The Corner is......wait for it.......yep...it's The Corner Store....

Well The Corner Store is really a pub and they have a couple of rooms out the back for accommodation and a cold beer for thirsty travelers and fuel for thirsty 4 wheels drives too....oh and basic showers and flush toilets. You can also camp across the road from the store...we did so in '06 when we were last though this way. This time however, we decided to press on Westward into the Strzelecki Desert and find a nice clay pan for the night......

As it turned out we found many and being clay pan selective type of people we settled on one that was between 2 beautiful red desert sand dunes with a little green vegetation on top and an ample supply of firewood.....ahh perfection....Oh did I mention a full moon rising over the dunes????.......Better get some of that firewood while it's still light.

We had a campfire that a passing ship would have seen and come to our rescue ........ even if we were in Central Australia.

Well you can only have so many drinks around the camp fire and look at the stars for so long after watching satellites and the international space station go overhead...before...yep ......it's out with the camp oven and cook a potato bake and meat pie for dinner while the coals are glowing nice and hot.

As we look around us and not see a sole for miles......are we the only ones that enjoy this kinda stuff......he said with a wry grin trying not to bite the tongue that was firmly in his cheek.
